Fastmount Low Profile Range Clips | La Tienda Naval

Low Profile Range

On many boats the space behind panels is minimal — barely a couple of centimetres between the interior lining and the hull or structure. The Fastmount Low Profile range is designed precisely for this: where standard clips will not fit, these reduce the required gap between panel and substrate without sacrificing retention. We recommend them constantly to customers lining fibreglass hulls or refitting sailboats where every millimetre counts.

  • Interior hull linings on sailboats and launches with limited clearance
  • Bulkhead panels mounted close to metal framework
  • Teak-veneered linings on curved surfaces with minimal gap
  • Low ceilings in forward cabins where a standard clip will not fit
  • Access panels for valves and plumbing in onboard heads

If you are combining these clips with our teak veneers on okoume plywood, the result is a thin but strong panel that fits in spaces where previously you could only glue. The advantage is obvious: when you need to reach a valve or cable, just pull the panel off — no scraping adhesive, no damage.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the real difference between Low Profile and Standard?

The main difference is the mounted clip height. The Standard needs about 13 mm of gap between panel and structure; the Low Profile reduces that to around 8 mm. Retention force is similar, so the choice depends purely on available space.

Do they work on curved panels?

Yes. LP clips have angular tolerance that allows them to adapt to slightly curved surfaces — very common on fibreglass hulls. For pronounced curves, use more fixing points and thinner, more flexible panels.

Can I use them with 4 mm plywood?

Absolutely. Many of our customers use 4 mm okoume plywood with teak veneer and LP clips. The male clip attaches with the short screws included or with mounting adhesive if the panel is very thin.

Browse our marine plywood in various thicknesses to find the ideal panel for these clips.
